I came to Debbie's Kitchen for the first time and ordered some sandwiches to go. My boyfriend and I ate them for dinner and thought they were so delicious! I recommend Debbie's Kitchen to anyone looking for a great sandwich or wrap!

Very small restaurant in downtown Albany, but very unique. They had nice soup and sandwich combos, their desserts looked great also. A good place for lunch!

Right now I'm eating a veggie wrap (hummus, grilled zucchini, fresh tomatoes, spinich, parmesan cheese in a whole wheat wrap) and all I can think with each bite is that Debbie is an absolute genius. Potato salad is good and the desserts you can write home about.

Best Sandwich Around! If your not afraid of food and are open to having a unique sandwich this place is amazing. She puts foods together that I never would have thought of on my own, but once you taste them it all makes sense. This place has character and the people are good!

I went here for lunch with a friend b/c we had heard good things. They were true! The sandwiches were tasty and the soup offerings were intriguing. My friend and I both had the half sandwich / small cup of soup combo. The soups were quite good as well. The sitting area is small and cramped, but we were able to find a place without much trouble. The blonde woman working (who I am pretty sure is Debbie) was very friendly and lively. Overall, a great lunch option in the Madison/Lark area.

Very unique sandwiches and ingredients that you would never think of putting between two slices of bread. Pork and apples is just an example. But dont knock it till you try it.

Discovered Debbie's a couple weeks ago and have now been a few times. Every time has been fantastic. Delicious sandwiches (I highly recommend the #9, smoked turkey, cheddar, sliced pears, lettuce and garlic mayo), always a few offerings of very creative soups and all different kinds of brownie type bars (try the Nutella brownie if they are avilable). Debbie has been there each time I've gone in and is always chatting up the customers (seems everyone knows her, her energy is half the reason to go). Last time in, she made my day by announcing that there was hot mac and cheese coming out of the oven while I was perusing the menu. It was deelish. Staff is friendly and very helpful and actually seems happy to be there (an uncommon thing these days). Great food, great vibe, very reasonably priced.

I second the favorable reviews of Debbie's Kitchen. Debbie takes sandwhiches to a whole new level. Touring her special board is a life-enriching experience. Her salads and sweets are out of this world. (During Thanksgiving, be sure to order her "to-die-for" homemade pies.)…She and her staff are hip. And her shop is adorable. Debbie's kitchen is the best thing since sliced bread!

Debbie's Kitchen is one of those great finds-- everything about it is absolutely wonderful! The sandwich combinations are intensely unique; the salads and soups are completely perfect; the desserts are to-die-for. The staff seems very hard-working, and competent. There is a wonderful energy radiating from this place and from Debbie herself...it is definitely worth shoving elbows during the afternoon rush!

Debbie's is a tradition in Albany. Her sandwiches are the best, and have been feeding the office crowd and locals for lunch forever, it seems. You can create your own mix, filled with wonderful options [sprouts, nuts, fancy flavored mayonnaise and mustards], or you can go with one of her daily specials, which usually includes a turkey and a vegetarian. Her desserts are also wonderful, especially her brownie. If you are in Albany and are looking for a great sandwich [to go, or with some room to eat in], you should definitely try Debbie's Kitchen.

If you don’t think a sandwich can be a work of genius, you obviously haven’t been to Debbie’s Kitchen. Dill havarti, smoked turkey, snow peas, pears, black-bean hummus, and roasted-garlic mayo are some of the more common things you’ll find them piling on to the legendary creations. And don’t even think about driving while eating one of these monsters---you will need both hands for your lunch. Debbie doesn’t limit her magic to sandwiches, though: just take a look in the dessert case to see what we mean. Pies, brownies, cookies, tortes, mousse cakes---you probably won’t have room for another bite after one of the sandwiches, but be sure to buy one for later. The shop also features an ever-changing selection of unusual side dishes and salads, most of which are vegetarian-friendly. Debbie’s is great for a quick take-out lunch to eat in Washington Park (just across the street), but the cheerful space with big windows onto busy Madison Avenue and a laid-back staff make this an inviting little lunch spot as well.
