Catering for vegans has never been easier. With a wide range of meat and dairy alternatives available and a push towards fresh, organic food, there are lots of ingredients on offer that are suitable for a vegan diet. Here are some of the things to think about when catering for vegans:
• Make vegan options interesting. Gone are the days where vegans would be offered a plain salad in a restaurant. Use fresh ingredients to create some interesting options.
• Think of the flavours. All flavours have to come from the ingredients – you can’t just rely on the quality of the meat. Find interesting twists and incorporate new food flavours into your dishes.
• Don’t rely on meat substitutes. Sometimes, people simply don’t like meat. Have them as an option but don’t make all of your food include them.
